A win without a bout
Fusensho is a default win awarded when a scheduled opponent is absent. The wrestler who is present still enters the dohyo area and is formally declared the winner.
The absent opponent receives a fusenpai, or default loss. No kimarite is credited because there was no physical contest. The result still counts in both wrestlers' tournament records.
A fusensho can matter in a championship or promotion race just like any other win, even though it does not provide evidence about form or technique. Sponsorship prize banners are withdrawn from a bout that becomes a default, so there is no kensho envelope to collect.
