Hatakikomi: Slap Down

Hatakikomi (叩き込み) occurs when a wrestler deflects the opponent's forward charge to the side while simultaneously slapping or pulling down on the back of the head or shoulders, causing the opponent to fall to the ground.

The move uses the opponent's forward momentum rather than meeting it directly. Timing is critical. A mistimed attempt can leave the defender moving backward, upright, and vulnerable to a push out.

Hatakikomi often appears after a hard charge or a rapid exchange of thrusts. It can resemble hikiotoshi, but the official distinction is in the action: hatakikomi uses a slap or downward pressure, while hikiotoshi is a pulling motion.
