Yoritaoshi: Frontal Crush Out
Yoritaoshi (寄り倒し) is closely related to yorikiri but with a key difference: instead of simply driving the opponent out of the ring, the attacker crushes the opponent down, causing them to fall at or near the edge of the dohyo. The opponent's body touches the ground before or as they leave the ring.
This technique results from sustained forward pressure when the defending wrestler loses footing and falls under the attack. It may happen at the straw bales as the defender tries to remain inside.
The difference from yorikiri is the fall. In yorikiri, the defender is forced out while staying upright. In yoritaoshi, the defender goes down as the forward drive reaches or crosses the edge.
